Jaycar is excited to help introduce more students to STEM education through our support of Robogals Auckland. Robogals is an international University Student run organisation that aims to introduce young people into the exciting world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with Robogals Auckland being the only chapter in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Robogals is passionate about inspiring the next generation of young women in STEM. Their aim is to increase female representation to create a more diverse STEM workforce that see diversity as a strength. This is achieved by running STEM related workshops for primary and secondary students, to introduce them to careers that may have not been known to them. 2022 was a momentous year for Robogals Auckland, upgrading their robots and laptops, as well as increasing the number of workshops from 23 to a record 44, reaching over 900 students in 23 locations in and outside of Auckland, with aims to reach even more rural areas in 2023.
