The existence of electromagnetic radiation was first demonstrated in 1885 by Heinrich Hertz. After 1900 the potential advantages of wireless technology to the battlefield and for marine warfare became known, interested industrial organisations multiplied, keeping pace with the growth of the armies of navies. This book features 250 photos and diagrams and tracks the use of wireless technology in war from its inception all the way up to more recent conflicts in Afghanistan. A great read for wartime enthusiasts.
