What is Nerd Perks?

Nerd Perks is a loyalty programme for you, our valuable customers! It’s a way we can connect with you to offer our thanks for your ongoing support. Your loyalty means a lot to us and we really appreciate it. Nerd Perks membership entitles you to earn points as you shop, 1 point per $1 dollar spent at any Jaycar Store, and be rewarded with a $10 eCoupon when you reach 200 points. Use your eCoupon at one of our stores or via Free call order line 1800 02 888. You’ll also receive perks such as exclusive offers, invitations, an online account profile, plus promotions in our monthly brochures, email campaigns and on our website.

How do I join Nerd Perks?

You can join in store or online.

Does it cost anything?

Nerd Perks is free to join and is run to provide benefits for loyal Jaycar customers.

In what countries does Nerd Perks operate?

Nerd Perks operates in Australia and New Zealand but the programme operates independently in each country so they aren’t linked.

Can anyone join Nerd Perks?

Yes, everyone who lives in Australia or New Zealand is welcome to join Nerd Perks. Nerd Perks operates independently in each country so membership can only be used in the country where you live.

How do I ensure I'm recognised as a member when shopping?

When shopping in store or over the phone, quote your details to sales staff so they can look up your account and link it to your purchase prior to it being processed.

When shopping online, make sure to sign in to your account before filling your cart and checking out.

Your account profile cannot be added to your purchase after the sale has been processed.

How do I activate my Nerd Perks Membership?

If you joined in store, you’ll need to activate your online account. Your welcome email contains a link to do this. Or use the Sign In / Register link on the top menu of the website and click the Activate button. You’ll need to use your original email that you registered with in store to set up a password.

If you registered on the website, your online account was activated during registration. You can use the Sign In / Register link on the top menu to log in to your account as a returning customer. Use the email and password set up during registration.

How do you manage my personal information?

Can I use the same membership account in both Australia and New Zealand?

Nerd Perks operates in Australia and New Zealand independently. So membership registered in Australia can’t be used for earning points or redeeming eCoupons in New Zealand and vice versa.

For those who regularly reside in both countries, it is recommended you register for separate membership accounts in each country.

Can I use my membership at a Jaycar Reseller store?

Nerd Perks is available in Jaycar company owned stores only.

Can I use the same email address across two or more memberships?

Your email address identifies you as a unique member when you sign in and shop with us, which means we require a different email address for each member.

Can I cancel my membership?

If you would like to cancel your Nerd Perks membership, please use the Contact us form to let us know.

Can I share my membership with family members?

Nerd Perks is about rewarding you personally with benefits and perks like your own account profile, which is linked to your email address. This means there can only be one member per account. Your family members can sign up too and enjoy the same rewards and benefits of membership.

I have more than one membership, how do I merge them?

Use the Contact us form on the website and supply all the details you can about your membership accounts so we can help merge them for you. Nerd Perks operates in Australia and New Zealand independently so we can only merge accounts that are registered in the same country.

Can I use a member card?

Staff can look up your details by email address or phone number at the time of transaction and don’t require a member card.

Yes, if you would prefer to use a member card at the counter you still can.

Can I use a member card at the counter instead of saying who I am?

Staff can look up your details by email address or phone number, instead of your name, at the time of transaction and don’t require a member card.

Yes, you can use a member card to identify yourself at the counter if you wish.

I’ve lost my card.

Staff can look up your details by email address or phone number at the counter when making a purchase and don’t require a member card.

Points

How do I get my points added to my account?

When shopping in store or over the phone, quote your details to sales staff so they can look up your account and link it to your purchase prior to it being processed.

Where can I earn points?

You can earn points on all your shopping transactions in Jaycar company owned stores within the country you registered. This includes over the phone and online orders, including Click & Collect. Quote your details for sales staff to locate your account or when shopping online sign in to your account before checking out.

Can I earn points when I buy from the Jaycar website?

Do I earn points when items are on sale?

Yes, you do. You earn points for every single dollar you spend, even if an item is discounted.

How can I check my Points Balance?

On the website, click My Account (near cart) and log in to your online account, you’ll see your points tally under Nerd Perks. Or ask the sales team while in store or on the phone. Or use the Contact us form on the website.

My points balance is negative?

If you have a negative points balance you will still earn points for purchases, which will be applied to your points account until a positive points balance is restored and thereafter.

eCoupons

What are digital rewards?

Digital rewards, such as eCoupons, are rewards that sit on a computer virtually rather than a reward physically produced like a plastic gift card. The digital rewards, eCoupons, sit on your account profile which was created when you registered for membership. When you identify yourself in store or over the phone, the sales team will be able to see if you have eCoupon rewards to use and give you the option to use it on the spot. This means you don’t have to remember to physically carry your reward with you in order to use it.

How long does it take to get a $10 eCoupon?

Each time you reach 200 points on your account profile you'll be rewarded with a $10 eCoupon.

How will I get my $10 eCoupon?

Once you are rewarded with your eCoupon, it will sit on your account profile ready for you to use on your very next shop, or any following shop. You will be sent a notification email of the eCoupon on your account.

eCoupons remain active for 6 months to give you plenty of time to decide what to buy!

How will I know if I have a $10 eCoupon?

You will be sent a notification email of the eCoupon on your account. You will also be informed by the sales team at the counter when in store, or over the phone after identifying your account profile. You will be given the option to use your eCoupon towards your purchase.

Where can I use my $10 eCoupon?

You can use your eCoupon in Jaycar company owned stores within the country you registered.

How can I find out how many eCoupons are on my account profile?

The sales team in store or over the phone will be able to inform you how many eCoupons you have to use after identifying your account profile.

Do I have to use my eCoupon in the same place I earned it?

You can use your eCoupon at any Jaycar company owned store, or by calling the Techstore, within the country you registered.

Can I split my $10 eCoupon and spend it on several purchases?

$10 eCoupons need to be used up in full in a single transaction.

How long will it take for my transaction to trigger my points and eCoupons?

Please allow up to 48 hours after your transaction occurred for your points and eCoupons appear on your account.

Do eCoupons work with Click & Collect?

If you have purchased via Click &s; Collect, your eCoupons will be triggered after you collect your order in-store. So your eCoupons will be available the next time you shop not on your collecting visit.

Emails

Why aren’t I receiving Nerd Perks emails?

The emails are likely to be going to your junk or spam folder. If you find a Jaycar Nerd Perks email there, select the ‘not spam’ option or similar to make sure future emails appear in your inbox. If you can’t find any emails, check your email address is correct on the profile section of the My Account page.

How do I unsubscribe from your emails?

If you’d like to unsubscribe, you can simply click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email you receive from us. Note, you are unsubscribing from promotional emails however you’ll still receive notification emails relating to your Nerd Perks membership such as statements and advice on changes to the membership programme.

How do I re-subscribe for emails?

Please use the Contact us form on the website and we’ll update your preferences for you.

Account

I forgot my password.

It's ok, you can reset or change your password by clicking Forgot my password on the Sign In / Register page and follow prompts.

Do I need to create an online account to use my Nerd Perks membership?

No you don't, you just need to activate your online account if you joined in store. Your welcome email contains a link to do this. Or use the Sign In / Register link on the top menu of the website and click the Activate button. You'll need to use your original email that you registered with in store to set up a password.

How do I update my account details such as my email?

You can update your details on the My Account page under Profile. Click on My Account (near cart), log in and click on Update Personal Details under your Profile section.

Click on the button linked to the update you wish to make: update your email, update personal details, or change your password. Click the green update button once you have finished to proceed or use the red cancel button to return without saving the change.

You can tell us about the update while in store or on the phone and we’ll help you. Or use the Contact us form on the website.

Why can't I see a recent purchase under my Order History?

It may take up to 48 hours for an in store purchase to appear in your Order History and any points you earn to show under Nerd Perks. Your online purchases should appear almost immediately in your Order History and Nerd Perks points.

Can I link recent or past purchases to my Nerd Perks account?

Unfortunately, you can't link past in store or online purchases to your membership account — your rewards and benefits start from the day you join Nerd Perks.

How do I view my account?

On the website, click My Account (near cart) and log in to your online account, you’ll see your points tally under Nerd Perks. Or ask the sales team while in store or on the phone. Or use the Contact us form on the website.

When you are rewarded with a $10 eCoupon, your 200 points will be automatically cashed in / redeemed so this could make your tally appear low.

Offers

Do Nerd Perks offers have a time restriction?

Exclusive member offers are available for a limited time, so make sure you check the details to avoid missing out.

How do I redeem my offers?

You can redeem member offers by quoting your registered details to the sales team at the counter when shopping in store. Or, if shopping online, log in to your account first so we know you are a member then you can redeem your offers.

Can I use a member offer in conjunction with other offers?

While you can redeem multiple offers in the same transaction, you can't use one offer on top of another. However, you'll always get the lowest available price.

Can I redeem Nerd Perks offers more than once?

All offers are different, but unless stated otherwise you can redeem your member offer multiple times during the offer time period.
