Many of us on the Jaycar staff have found that using a USB socket (either standard or USB micro B, etc.) very frequently actually wears the connector out and it becomes unreliable. To reduce this problem, we have introduced a micro USB lead that should remain plugged into the USB device to save wear on the inlet socket. Yes, this means that you will have to put up with the inconvenience of a small lead sticking out of the device but it saves the product from becoming unusable. You can, of course lay the lead down with double-sided tape if you like to create a neater result.
