This chart is used by TV and video professionals for testing TV or video resolution, frequency response characteristics, and performance of cameras and display devices. The primary application is for users and manufacturers to quantify the limit where fine detail contained in the original image is no longer reproduced by the camera system. Also used to test the performance of complete imaging systems by
making an image of the standard resolution target in the chart and determining the point at which the system is no longer able to separate the lines.

The chart conforms to IEEE 208-1995. (Measurement of Resolution of Camera Systems) and replaces  EIA 1956. Chart size is 245 x 184mm, active measurement area is 204 x 152mm.
