When upgrading existing low voltage halogen downlights to LED alternatives, the most reliable way is to use GU10 mains LED downlights and ditch the old halogen transformer - but this might need some re-wiring and a call to an electrician. Not with this lead though! Most low voltage downlight transformers are connected to a standard 3-pin mains socket in the ceiling cavity, so all you need to do is unplug the old low voltage downlight and transformer, plug in this lead, and voila - you now have a mains GU10 downlight socket. Simple!
